Every new year brings a fresh rhythm, and as I look ahead to 2026, I’m feeling incredibly excited about what’s coming for Straight Thru Photography — and for the families I get to work with across Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and the surrounding areas.
This year is all about thoughtful photography, meaningful moments, and making it easier for families to preserve their memories in ways that feel natural and stress-free. Whether you’re planning family photos, welcoming a new baby, or part of a daycare or sports organization, here’s what you can expect in 2026.
Seasonal Mini Sessions You Love (With a Little More Intention)
Seasonal mini sessions will continue to be a big part of my photography calendar, offering you a simple, relaxed way to update your photos throughout the year.
Easter Mini Sessions will return in early spring, with booking opening in February 2026. These sessions are soft, joyful, and perfect for celebrating the season with light-filled images that feel timeless.
As the weather warms, Spring Outdoor Family Mini Sessions will open for booking in April. Spring is one of the most beautiful times to photograph families in the Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge area — fresh greenery, gentle light, and kids who are ready to move and play. These sessions are ideal for families who want natural, candid photos without committing to a full session.
Fall and Christmas mini sessions will also return later in the year. Fall family photo sessions remain one of the most popular times to book, and Christmas mini sessions continue to be a favourite for holiday cards and gifts. Full details and booking dates will be shared closer to each season, with email subscribers always receiving first access.
Limited Summer Availability
Summer tends to move at a slower pace for our family, and because of that, I’ll be offering limited photography sessions during the summer months. If summer family photos or milestone sessions are important to you, planning ahead will be key.

Daycare and Sports Team Photography Across Waterloo Region
Daycare and sports team photography will continue throughout 2026, and I’m grateful to work alongside so many amazing local organizations. Over the years, I’ve partnered with daycares and teams including Bright Path Cambridge, Bright Path Kitchener, Bright Path Maple Grove, Rising Oaks, Bright Starts Cooperative Early Learning Centre, and the Kitchener Ringette Association — with more partnerships growing each year.

A New Focus: Teaching Parents to Capture Everyday Moments
One of the biggest shifts for me in 2026 is leaning more intentionally into education for parents — helping you feel more confident capturing your children and your everyday life.
Not every meaningful moment happens during a professional photo session. Some of the most important memories are found in the ordinary days: the kitchen table mess, quiet snuggles, bedtime routines, and laughter in between. This year, I’m expanding the resources I offer to help parents tell their stories, even when I’m not behind the camera.
