Today, I want to share with you an adorable experience I had during a newborn session here in the studio. I had the pleasure of photographing Saxon, the third child of the family with two adorable big brothers to take care of her (or for her to fight back against, which seems to be more in line with her personality!) As soon as I heard that mom wanted a pink and girly theme for her newborn photography session, I was excited to get started.
I prepared my studio with all the pink and floral props I could find, hoping to make baby Saxon's photoshoot as special and unique as possible. As soon as they arrived, I could see the excitement on their faces. Mom was thrilled to finally have a little girl to dress up and take photos of, and had brought along a few pieces for the session "I want to use all the pink and girly and Hello Kitty things I can before she's old enough to fight back" hahah.
As soon as I started the session, I could tell that Saxon was going to be a dream to photograph. She was calm, content, and slept so peacefully throughout the session. It was almost as if she knew exactly what to do and how to pose for the camera (good luck Mom and Dad hahaha). I was able to capture some of the most adorable shots I have ever taken, All cozy with her cup of tea… she was seriously a dream!
One of the things I love most about newborn photography is being able to create a warm and comfortable environment for both baby and parents. It's always wonderful to see parents feel comfortable enough in the studio to relax (and even rest) while I do my work, and I was happy to see that dad was able to embrace that. Given that this was their third time in studio for newborn photos, he knew that his baby was in good hands. It's moments like these that make me feel truly grateful for my job and the opportunity to capture precious moments for families.
In the end, I was able to deliver a collection of beautiful and timeless photos to Kylee & Tyler, and watching this family grow again is a great reminder of the joy and beauty that comes with capturing moments like these for families.
I'm excited to continue to watch this family grow- it's been 10 years of capturing their special moments, through pregnancies, maternity photos, newborn photos and cake smashes, it is always a blast to work with them, and I look forward to many more years!
